I got left behind

I got left behind
In the shadows
Of the woods
Lost
Groping in darkness

He moved ahead
Beckoning me
To follow
How could I ?
I clung to myself
To life

To forget is to know
To leave is to get
I know, I know
But still I hung on
Crying, laughing, running and tiring

He never pulled me
He never pushed me
He wont
I know
He never will
And now
I don’t want to cry
I don’t want to laugh
I don’t want to run
I don’t want to tire

And so I crawl
Slowly
Painfully
To reach
To get there
To where ?
To whom ?
He alone knows
He who always knew.

He says leave Her
How can I ?
She is no dream
Nor a joke
She is no game either
Still he says leave Her

He calls her Maya
Maya, the cleverest of them all
I saw a sun rise in Maya
I saw love in Maya
I saw the message in Maya
Still he wants me to leave Her
Ignore Her
Forget Her
Should I ?
Can I ?

Oh ! But I trust him
How I believe him
I shall follow him
I will fight
And win
